The countless advantages of the Combi-GreenPlug

The Combi-Greenplug is the combination of a GreenPlug with a top layer. This combination offers many advantages. The specially selected mix of substrate in the GreenPlug facilitates optimum root formation and growth. The top layer prevents moss from forming and the GreenPlug is less prone to dehydration. The IBN cutting propagation nursery has collaborated with GreenPlug on the innovative further development of the existing GreenPlug. Our conifer customers have been the first to notice the improvement, but this new approach is of course suitable for other crops.

The innovative Combi-GreenPlug ensures:

• Limited moss growth - the top layer ensures faster drying, making it less inviting for moss to grow.

• Good root confinement – the top layer sinks down, through which a natural barrier is formed, and roots are a lot less likely to entangle with neighbouring cuttings.

• Easy potting-on process, so labour savings – the root ball has a clean top and releases easily from the tray. This facilitates faster potting on. Fewer people are required at the potting machine and the potting machine manages a higher volume.

• Less waste - The roots are held together and attach themselves less to the walls of the cuttings tray. During potting on, very little damage is caused. This ensures a better quality young plant. A root environment is nurtured, in and around the plug, in which strong and healthy roots develop.
